Staff Profiles

LBASC has a friendly, well-trained and professional staff team. All of our staff have up-to-date DBS checks and take the safety and welfare of your child(ren) very seriously.

Catherine Daw

PLAY LEADER AND DESIGNATED SENIOR FOR CHILD PROTECTION

Catherine joined LBASC in February 2009. Her qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Play work, Paediatric First Aid, Advanced Interagency Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, Encouraging Positive Behaviour, Administering Medicine and Manual/Positive Handling. Catherine also has a BA honours degree in Art and Visual Culture, which she enjoys putting to good use by leading art and craft activities with the children. In addition to her Play leader role, Catherine works as a 1.1 SMSA and provides LSA cover in the Reception Class at Luckwell Primary School. She has also worked as a Support Worker, which has given her experience of working with people who have additional needs.

Steve Dainton

DEPUTY PLAY LEADER AND DEPUTY DESIGNATED SENIOR FOR CHILD PROTECTION

Steve joined the LBASC team in 2013. His qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care Learning and Development, Paediatric First aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety and Administering Medicine. Steve has over 13 years of experience of working as a Play worker with various clubs across Bristol. He enjoys outdoor play, and often leads our sports activities and group games in the school’s playground and sports hall.

Jennie Liminton

SENIOR PLAY WORKER

Jennie joined LBASC in 2013 and has a Level 3 qualification in Play work. Jennie has over 14 years’ experience of play work, starting as a child-minder in 2000 when she was living in New Zealand. On returning to the UK in 2001, she worked as a play worker in Hartcliffe, running a Saturday club for children aged 4-11. This then developed into an after school and holiday club in 2003, including an annual camp. Jennie progressed to Deputy Play leader until she left to start her own family. In addition to Jennie’s work at LBASC, she works at the Scramblers playgroup (St Francis Church) running a holiday club for children aged 5-10. Jennie’s other qualifications include: First Aid, Child Protection, Food hygiene, Positive Behaviour and Fire Safety. Jennie often leads the cooking activities and make lots of tasty treats with the children!

Sharon Redfern

PLAY WORKER AND PART-TIME ADMINISTRATOR

Sharon initially joined LBASC as a Management Committee Member in 2014, offering support to the club in her own time. In 2015, she became the club’s part-time Administrator and a Play worker for the team. Sharon has completed a Level 2 qualification in Play work and has received training in Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and Fire Safety. In addition to her work at LBASC, Sharon works as a freelancer for Playing out and a parent helper at Luckwell School. Sharon has a science/research background and is keen to encourage and support the children's interest in science.

Beverley Jones

PLAY WORKER

Bev joined our team in 2015, bringing a wealth of experience of working with the children of Luckwell School as a SMSA. Bev has completed a Level 2 qualification in Play work and has received training in Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid, Fire Safety and Food Hygiene. Bev is great at encouraging and supporting imaginative and creative play with the children.

Angela Clements

PLAY WORKER

Angela has worked for LBASC for over 10 years. She is an experienced play worker in addition to working as a SMSA at Luckwell Primary School. Angela has completed training in First Aid, Child Protection and Food Hygiene. Angela is also a professional florist and enjoys putting her creative skills to good use.

Roxy Pegler

PLAY WORKER

Roxy joined LBASC in 2016. She has completed training in First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene, Manual/Positive Handling and Buccolam. She works as a general play worker and 1:1 play worker at LBASC. She is also a 1:1 LSA at Luckwell Primary School.
